Teaming Up to End Racism Through Faith and Action in with BC Lions

Students from Archbishop Carney recently participated in the Team Up to End Racism presentation, led by our PHE Department Head, Mr. Matthew Manfron, in partnership with the BC Lions and the Ministry of Education. Through powerful personal stories from and meaningful dialogue from Stephen Adekolu and Sean Millington, students were encouraged to recognize racism, reflect on its impact, and consider how each of us can be part of the solution.

As a Catholic school community, this experience reflects our Gospel call to love our neighbour, honour the dignity of every person, and stand up for justice. We are called not only to reject racism, but to actively build communities rooted in compassion, inclusion, and respect, where all are welcomed and valued as children of God.

We are grateful for this important opportunity that challenges our students to live out their faith through action and to help create schools and communities grounded in empathy, understanding, and peace.
