The Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese (CISVA) operates 46 schools - 40 elementary and 6 high schools - with a diverse team of dedicated teachers and support staff. Our staff is focused on providing an education based on the teachings of Jesus Christ, helping students grow into responsible citizens who embrace and share their faith. We are looking for passionate and qualified candidates to join our mission of providing excellent Catholic education in the Greater Vancouver Area and Powell River. Start by creating an online profile on Make A Future, our preferred application platform. This is required for teacher, education assistant, and office support staff positions.

Prepare Required Documents
Please have all the documents listed in the "Documents Needed" section below ready before proceeding.
Step 3
Submit Your Application
Upload all required documents to your Make A Future profile and submit your application for the desired position.

BC Teaching Certificate or Application Number. If the latter, please provide either a letter or screenshot confirming your documents are submitted and your application is processing. Please also add any out of province certifications.
Criminal Record Check (if you are outside of BC)

Proof of Eligibility to Work in Canada (Canadian Birth Certificate, Canadian Citizenship Card, Permanent Residence, Work Permit, etc.)
Catholic Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
University Transcripts
Teacher Evaluation / Practicum Reports only for recent graduates (within the last 3 years)
Two (2) Professional Reference Forms (dated within the last year to be sent by you to your referee. Once completed, it should be sent directly by your referee to hr@cisva.bc.ca)

Verification of Teaching Experience (We will also accept copies of the Verification of Teaching Experience forms that you have submitted to the BC Ministry of Education)

What happens next?

Applications are processed in the order they are received. The Superintendent's Office will review your application.

If your application meets the initial requirements, you'll be scheduled for an interview with the Associate Superintendent of Human Resources.

After approval from the Superintendent's Office, principals of individual schools will conduct interviews with suitable candidates. Short-listed applicants may be called for a second interview with the school's Education Committee

If selected, you'll receive a job offer from the school's hiring committee. Contract signing and other documentation will be completed at the school level
